FD80’s exceptional craftsmanship and Horizon’s AMSA 2C capabilities draw crowds and generate considerable sales leads.
Horizon Yachts capped off a successful 2024 Sydney International Boat Show, cultivating a pipeline of promising opportunities and showcasing its commitment to innovation and bespoke design. The event, held in Sydney’s picturesque Darling Harbour from August 1–4, was a spectacle of superyachts, boats, and a wide range of marine technology. Almost 42,000 visitors attended, with a surge in interest in the marina during the sunny weekend days.
Horizon’s presence at the Cockle Bay Marina entrance prominently featured the FD80 Hull 12 that captivated audiences. Visitors were particularly impressed by the yacht’s superb layout and the outstanding quality of finishes. AMSA 2C compliant, the yacht was built to strict Australian Maritime Safety Authority regulations, highlighting Horizon’s expertise in crafting vessels tailored to specific needs.
A showcase of elegance and functionality, this FD80’s interior presents an unparalleled warm and natural ambiance with a layout that speaks volumes—floor-to-ceiling windows, expansive spaces for conviviality, dark koto wood accents, and rich textures. The yacht can accommodate up to eight guests in four cabins, including a full-beam master en suite, and offers a split-use skylounge configuration and a heated Jacuzzi that sports its own bar counter. Its design also includes a hydraulic folding radar mast and caters for a one-ton helicopter landing pad.
Beyond the FD80 on display, the show generated significant interest in Horizon Yachts across several areas:

Horizon generated numerous prospects for both the FD80 and the larger FD90 models. Secondary inspections for both builds have been scheduled to take place at Horizon Australia headquarter.“We’re delighted with the outcome of the show this year,” said Horizon Yacht Australia Director Mark Western. “The FD80 turned heads with her exquisite design and craftsmanship, and we’re thrilled by the substantial interest in our custom build and brokerage offerings. Time and again, we’ve seen overwhelming positive responses to the impressive volume-to-length ratio of the FD Series. That’s very appealing to the Australian clientele. It’s a complete package, with the right balance that’s well-suited when it comes to charter, crewing, and securing a berth.”
